Keyamo gets endorsement to run for Senate By-election

In view of the Senatorial by-election for Delta Central Senatorial election following the death of Senator Pius Ewherido, Lagos-based lawyer, Mr. Festus Keyamo has been endorsed by his own newly formed socio-political group, Delta Forces United (DFU), to contest the forthcoming by-election to fill the existing vacant seat in the Senate.

The coordinators of DFU in the senatorial district, who were said to have held wide and extensive consultations in the area, resolved that Keyamo possesses a profile that perfectly qualifies him to fill the vacuum recently created by the untimely death of Senator Pius Ewherido.

The Urhobo nation, it was gathered, urgently needs to fill this void and the people are shopping for their best material to put forward.
In a statement by the DFU spokesman, Mr. Frank Oshanugor, the coordinators were largely of the opinion that since Keyamo, a chief of Uvwie kingdom, had fought several legal battles both locally and internationally with outstanding victories to show for his efforts, he deserves nothing less than a seat in the Senate.

They cited the example with his recent victory against the federal government wherein he successfully, through the instrumentality of the law, curtailed the powers of the president to appoint Service Chiefs without the approval of the Senate and the House of Representatives.

The group argued that if Keyamo could fight such onerous battles on behalf of the Senate in his private capacity as a non-senator and won, it could only be imagined how much value his election as a senator could bring into the hallowed chambers of the upper legislative body and to the Urhobo nation in general.
The DFU coordinators in endorsing Keyamo for the senatorial seat, also applauded his recent victory at the Census Tribunal where he had gone to seek redress on behalf of his people of Uvwie community.
He had challenged the inadequate figures allocated to the area and following his dexterity and robust legal arguments in proving his case, the tribunal had no choice but to re-order a recount.

These feats, among others, according to DFU chieftains, placed Keyamo taller than any other aspirants seeking election to fill the vacant seat in the Senate.
