According to a high ranking source in the Delta State House

the petitioners.
The petition reads in part, “ That Nicholas Mutu on the 26th
of last month, (June) brought in ex-militants numbering over 200 to kidnap and
murder Mr. Moses Amatu, Kenneth Mezieh and other members of the Bomadi Local
Government Area Federated Youth Movement for allegedly planning to protest
against his fifth term agenda on the 27th of July 2013 when the wife of the
Delta state Governor, Deaconess Roli Uduaghan and her team was expected to
organize a prayer program tagged "Solemn Assembly" in Bomadi town.
The petition stated that it took the combined efforts of the
men of the Department of the State Security and the Joint Task Force in the
Area to rescue them after they were brutally assaulted by the heavily armed
gang hired by the Federal Lawmaker.
“Consequently, the petitioners in their prayers are urging
the State Police Command to amongst others, arrest Hon. Mutu and his terrorist
gang, investigate the issue and initiate criminal prosecution against the
legislator and his co-conspirators to serve as a deterrent to others.”
As at the time of filling in this report, more details of the act are still coming in but it was gathered that, Mutu was earlier arrested and released on self recognition.

In the same vein, political pundits in the area has it that,
the incident was much related to the 2015 aspiration of both Hon. Basil
Ganagana and Hon Mutu for the same membership position at the National Assembly.
All attempts to reach the duo on their comments on the
issued proved abortive as the both refused reply SMS sent to them as well as
answering series of calls on their mobile lines.
